Marguerite T. Saunders Urban Center for Alcoholism and Addiction Services (MS-UCAS)

Founded in 1989 and located in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, MS-UCAS is a comprehensive chemical dependency treatment program that offers multi-modality day treatment services. MS-UCAS is uniquely designed to provide therapeutic services to alcohol and other drug abusers, many of who also receive methadone maintenance treatment. Those patient's who are enrolled in an MMTP, may continue to receive treatment at their "home" MMTP, while receiving enhanced therapeutic services at the MS-UCAS program. A patient's significant other may also be eligible for admission to the MS-UCAS program.

Patients are assigned for treatment from one to five days per week and may remain from two hours to an entire day. Patients are admitted who present a diagnosis of abuse/addiction to alcohol and/or drugs. Patients enrolled in Methadone Maintenance Programs can be referred for intensive treatment for the abuse/addiction to secondary substances such as cocaine or alcohol.
